Workshop Abstract
Do you validate your equipment in your laboratory before subjecting it to testing patient samples? If you don’t, you will definitely want to attend this class for some practical ways of implementing this at your facility. If you are already doing equipment validations, hats off to you. Wouldn’t you like to improve upon what you are already doing though? We will discuss the role and purpose of equipment validations and the rationale and place for a revalidation versus simply doing the routine maintenance and calibrations. You will receive several practical forms and SOPs to help guide you in this process from labs around the world. It’s never too late to implement high standards at your facility and this is a great place to start! When you do decide to validate new equipment, what role can the vendor play in helping you? What role should they play? Regardless of where you’re at in your career, this lecture will hopefully engage you and provide you with some real-life practical applications for instilling confidence in the equipment you use on a day-to-day basis.
